Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Scope of the Policy
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all services offered by backstageix through our website. These services include professional training courses focused on media feeds, covering professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution, camera work, and the creation of reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. The policy governs purchases made by customers located in the United Kingdom and explains the terms under which payments are accepted, contracts are formed, and refunds may be provided. It covers both one-time course purchases and any subscription-based access to training materials. This document does not apply to services provided outside the scope of these courses or to third-party products promoted on the site.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. Any additional charges such as transaction fees from payment processors or currency conversion costs for international cards will be clearly shown before payment is completed. backstageix reserves the right to adjust prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed and confirmed. Customers are responsible for any bank charges or taxes imposed by their own financial institutions.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express as well as bank transfers where arranged in advance. Payment is authorised at the time of order placement through secure third-party gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. Authorisation holds funds until the transaction is completed or cancelled. All payment data is encrypted and backstageix does not store full card details on its systems. In the event of suspected fraudulent activity, orders may be held for verification which could delay access to course materials.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
Once you submit an order and payment is successfully authorised, you will receive an email confirmation containing order details, course access instructions and a summary of the terms. A binding contract is formed upon receipt of this confirmation. For digital course access, immediate delivery begins upon confirmation unless you exercise your cancellation rights within the permitted period. You should review the confirmation email carefully and contact us promptly if any details appear incorrect.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, UK consumers generally have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of order confirmation during which they may cancel without providing a reason. For digital content such as online courses, this right may be lost once you begin downloading or streaming the material or expressly consent to immediate performance. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time but refunds for unused periods are subject to the eligibility rules below. To cancel, notify backstageix in writing via the contact methods listed at the end of this policy.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available where cancellation occurs within the 14-day period and no substantial portion of the digital content has been accessed. Refunds will not be granted for courses that have been fully or partially completed, for promotional or discounted offers where the discount was conditional on non-refundable terms, or for services already delivered. Technical difficulties on the customer side or change of mind after the cooling-off period do not qualify for refund. Non-refundable items include any downloadable resources or certificates issued upon course completion.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund, send an email to [email protected] or use the contact form on our Contacts page. Include your full name, order number, date of purchase, and a clear statement that you wish to cancel and obtain a refund. Provide any supporting details such as screenshots of access issues if relevant. Requests must be made within the applicable time limits. We aim to acknowledge receipt of your request within two working days.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of the Refund Decision
Upon receiving a refund request, backstageix will review the order history, access logs and compliance with the cooling-off rules. You will be notified of the decision by email within five working days. If approved, the refund will proceed as described below. If rejected, the reasons will be explained together with any options for appeal or alternative resolution. We reserve the right to request additional information to verify the request.
Refund Method, Processing Time and When Funds Reach the Customer
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Processing typically takes between five and ten working days after approval, although bank processing times may extend this to fourteen days in some cases. You will receive confirmation once the refund has been initiated. For bank transfers, additional time may be required depending on your financial institution.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services and Promotional Offers
Digital course content is treated as immediately available once access credentials are issued. By consenting to immediate performance you waive the standard 14-day cancellation right for that portion of the content. Subscription renewals are charged automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional bundles may have separate refund conditions stated at the time of purchase. No refunds are provided for time-limited access that has already expired.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
If a payment fails, you will be notified and given the opportunity to retry with an alternative method. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded automatically once identified. Chargebacks initiated without valid grounds may result in suspension of access and recovery of costs. Suspected fraudulent orders are cancelled and reported to the relevant authorities where necessary, with no refund issued to the fraudulent party.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If you believe your statutory rights have been infringed, you may seek redress through the courts or alternative dispute resolution schemes available in the United Kingdom.
Contact Route, Policy Changes and Last-Updated Date
For any questions about this policy or to make a request, please use the contact form on our Contacts page or email [email protected]. We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in law or business practices. The current version will always be available on the website with the last-updated date clearly displayed. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
